“TV” Tommy Ivo softens the hard life of touring the pro digger circuit with a first-class setup that does wonders for the hot rod image

In the immortal words of Stroker McGurk (circa 1950): “If some is good, more is better, and too much is just enough.” Or as “TV” Tommy Ivo might put it: “Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.” Like, for instance, this $25,000 Dodge rig that hauls Ivo’s matched pair of AA/FD’s and his street ’Vette. Those diggers feature 185-inch Don Long-built chassis, Keith Black-prepared Dodge mills, and 6.56 e.t.’s with 231-mph top ends. They ride in glass-enclosed comfort just behind a five-by-eight-foot lounge with fold-up bunk, refrigerator, closed-circuit TV, and air conditioning. The area beneath the fuelers provides storage for tools and equipment. The combination push-car and street machine rides in its own special compartment on top.
