«BÉSAME MUCHO»: LA HISTORIA DE LAS FLORES «CAMUFLADAS» CON UNOS LABIOS ROJOS Y OTRAS CURIOSIDADES BOTÁNICAS En los bosques tropicales de América Latina crece una de las flores más codiciadas por los amantes del exotismo en el mundo vegetal. Se trata de la Psychotria elata (izquierda), una planta increíblemente efímera que modifica su estructura para atraer a los colibríes y a las mariposas. En realidad, sus exuberantes labios rojos son dos brácteas (hojas que nacen del pedúnculo de las flores) que sirven para atraer a los polinizadores y proteger a las verdaderas flores, escondidas en su interior. Sin embargo, no es la única flor extraordinariamente extraña de la zona. Sobre estas líneas, tres ejemplares de Calceolaria uniflora.
