Una historia de la EMIGRACIÓN ESPAÑOLA EN EE.UU.

Será una de las citas culturales de 2020. A partir del 23 de enero, el Centro Cultural Conde Duque de Madrid acogerá la exposición Emigrantes invisibles, centrada en la epopeya de la emigración española a Estados Unidos entre 1868 y 1945. Sus artífices, el catedrático estadounidense de la New York University James D. Fernández y el periodista y cineasta Luis Argeo, han vivido los últimos años con un pie en Estados Unidos y otro en España, en busca de historias sobre estos emigrantes, hasta alcanzar un fondo documental de 15.000 imágenes digitalizadas, una muestra de las cuales se expondrá en el Conde Duque. De acuerdo con Fernández, la mayor oleada se dio en torno a 1919, cuando 90.000 españoles llegaron a EE.UU. La presencia de nuestros compatriotas se dejó notar…
