ES LA ORGANIZACIÓN DE INTELIGENCIA MÁS PODEROSA DE PLANETA, CAPAZ DE CONTROLAR EL MUNDO PARA QUE LOS INTERESES DE ESTADOS UNIDOS PREVALEZCAN SOBRE LOS DE CUALQUIER OTRO PAÍS. SIN EMBARGO, CUANDO SE CREÓ EN 1947 EL PAÍS NO HABÍA TENIDO NUNCA UN SERVICIO SECRETO CIVIL QUE DEPENDIERA DE LA JEFATURA DEL ESTADO. EN ESTA MATERIA NO ERA EL PAÍS MODERNO Y AVANZADO QUE EMPEZABA A VENDERSE POR EL MUNDO. CUANDO NACIÓ, “LA COMPAÑÍA” ERA UN SERVICIO QUE TENÍA MUCHO QUE APRENDER DE OTROS.

Los orígenes lejanos del espionaje Estados Unidos se remontan a la época en que George Washington era el comandante en jefe del ejército que luchaba contra los ingleses por la independencia. En aquella contienda, de 1775 a 1983, el espionaje era primitivo, simple, sin una organización propia e independiente. El general logró ganar la guerra para un país, del que luego sería su primer presidente, siendo consciente de la necesidad de conocer los movimientos de su enemigo y la composición de sus fuerzas. Pero también fue consciente de que sus tropas estaban muy infiltradas por espías británicos, lo que le llevó a utilizar la mentira y el engaño no para evitar el robo de información, sino para intoxicarles inventando documentos oficiales que les hacía llegar mediante algunos de los topos…
