STUDY: CANNABIS IS BENEFICIAL FOR PTSD

A recent study conducted by Rutgers University and the University of California, San Diego confirmed that cannabis use is more beneficial than disruptive when it comes to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) treatments. “Some providers believe cannabis use impedes PTSD treatment, and that cannabis use while in PTSD therapy could increase drop-out rates and exacerbate symptoms,” said study coauthor and Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology assistant professor, Tanya C. Saraiya. “Our findings challenge this assumption.” Researchers analyzed data from four main studies to gain new insight, allowing Saraiya and other fellow researchers to measure PTSD severity before and after therapy treatment.
