This is a compilation of stories about my time on the repair ship, USS Ajax, the ship we called home for three years, eight months and fourteen days during World War II. There is more to a guy's service time than just black carbon and unburned diesel fuel up to the armpits, so I have written about the stuff that happened to my other fellow ordinary swabbies, screwy and otherwise.
