A heartbreaking memoir written through deeply personal journal entries, Grieving Through Grace: Loss of a Child chronicles one mother's experience losing a child. Without warning, Jamie Dickerson is called to the hospital, where her daughter lies unresponsive. At only twenty-nine years old, her daughter April is called home by God. Her world thrown upside-down, Jamie writes about the excruciating pain of having to bury a child. Through this darkest time, Jamie is able to find a glimmer of hope and strength through the Lord in order to continue on. For anyone who has lost a loved one and is experiencing doubt in their faith, Jamie's reflections will provide empathy and comfort, as well as a way to place your trust in God that everything will be okay.
About the Author
My walk in life has been very unique and challenging at times. As a young mother at the age of fifteen, I began a journey that would develop me into the woman I am today. I was born and raised in Bolingbrook, IL until I was fourteen and then moved to central Florida. I met the love of my life the first week I moved there while in my freshman year of high school. We have been married now for 25 years and God has always been the center of our marriage. As young teenage parents we faced many challenges but overcame them through the grace of God. We were blessed with one daughter and two sons. In addition, we adopted our granddaughter when she was born. Our hardest, most difficult challenge was losing our twenty nine year old daughter July 31, 2023. Through God we are standing firm on our faith to bring us through this life with peace and knowing her spirit is here with us. My career has been a ministry leader for many years, as well as; a home school mom/Grammy for over twenty five years. God, family, and living life to its fullest are the main focus of my day to day life.
