The Christmas holiday was always a joyful and exciting time with Daddy, Mom and my brother. The traditions always began with the fun chore of helping Daddy pull the well-worn cardboard box containing our artificial 6-foot Christmas tree out of the attic. Mom would be in the kitchen preparing festive comfort foods and holiday desserts that would sustain us through the busy week of tasks. I can still remember the delectable aromas of Mom's potato bacon soup, sweet-and-sour meatballs and other delicious food that wafted through the house during those cold days. GOOD OLD DAYS in the KITCHEN I enjoyed whirling and twirling in the living room to Andy Williams’ Christmas album on my parents’ console stereo while Daddy assembled the tree.
