Q WHAT DID YOU WANT TO CHANGE? The house had been owned by the same couple for 46 years, and although dated, it was structurally sound, so we quickly realised its potential. There was a large dining room, but the kitchen was small and square, which felt unbalanced. We knew adding a rear extension would achieve the open-plan layout we needed, but we lived in the house for two years while we got a better feel for the space. Q WHAT WAS YOUR BRIEF TO THE ARCHITECT? I’ve always been interested in architecture and interiors, and admired BetterPAD’s projects on Instagram, so approached them in 2020.
