SQUARE UP YOUR ALIGNMENT

If you are wondering why you never seem to hit a straight golf shot, it probably has something to do with your alignment. Perhaps the biggest mistake I see made by players setting up for a shot is they look at the target and set their body in position before putting the club behind the ball. There is no chance of ever hitting the ball where you are looking because this error will have you aiming away from the target. The most common version of this alignment error is the player who walks in looking at the flag (pic 1) with no real concept of where their body is aimed, which is usually well to the left (for right-handers) because they have just been looking front-on at the flag.
