The ability to strike the ball consistently well is the most important and valuable skill a golfer can possess. A clean, solid strike maximises distance through a pure energy transfer from the club to the ball. It improves accuracy because the clubface is stable at impact. Essentially, it is the basis of every solid golf shot. I have never seen an expert ballstriker who is not also an expert golfer.
