Program the motion sensors to make a DIY pedometer

01 Create a variable With this step-by-step we will make a program which counts a step each time you take one. Start a new Touch Develop script and rename it to a more suitable title such as ‘Step Counter’. Then create a variable to store the number of steps you have taken. Select the ‘var’ tile and then make the variable equal to zero. When you start the program or restart it the total steps will always start from zero. Now, click the ‘X’ and then select the ‘Rename’ tile, rename the variable, calling it ‘Steps’.
