As the cold Vermont winter sets in, the local amphibians – salamanders, toads, newts, and frogs – seek out cozy places to hibernate. They’ll stay hidden beneath us during the dark, freezing months, as we sled, skate, snowshoe, and ski on the ice and snow. After a long winter, our family is ready to celebrate springtime. But we know that it’s not really spring until the salamanders cross the road. The most exciting part is – we help them!
