What can possibly be left to write about? A great deal, according to these diligent and down-to-earth authors. It was warming to see that this book is dedicated to Anthony Roberts, an old pal from FT’s early days, one of the great rediscoverers of “lost” British antiquarian studies and whose work of 40 years became a foundation for the present book.
