A personal project by Philip Mantle has been to bring together the large amount of material that has accumulated around the famous close encounter/abduction case from 11 October 1973, in which two fishermen – Calvin Parker and Charles Hickson – were floated through the air by disturbingly alien humanoids on the Pascagoula River in Mississippi (see this issue’s cover story). From their meeting in 2018, Mantle and physiologist Dr Scott encouraged Parker and together they gathered further witness accounts and investigation records. The result is a fat anthology of their evidence, prolifically illustrated with facsimiles, news clippings, photos, interviews, and transcripts of several hypnosis sessions.
