SALES CORNER

In this issue Peter Love looks at a number of sales that featured much ‘blue’ machinery from the late autumn and early winter months, despite collectors car, motor-cycle and lorry prices lowering, tractors are holding up very well as you will see here.

CHRIS LEADER SALE There was a cheerful crowd at the late Chris Leader sale on Saturday 6th October at Long Stratton, Norfolk. There were plenty of lots to go through before we got to the tractors here, remembering the farm was Fordson and Ford through and through for many decades. First on was the 1935 Fordson Standard N waterwasher no.792839 with enclosed Dunlop rear tyres. It ran a treat and had been restored well and was to be the snip at £1,800 at this Clarke and Simpson sale. It was run by director James Durrant who has developed into an excellent auctioneer in his own right.
