FIELDSTRIPPING

Takedown is simple. Remove the magazine, work the slide, and look to ensure the chamber is unloaded. Press in the plunger directly under the muzzle. Use a dowel or other object if your fingers are too big (1). Withdraw the slide lock to the left. Note the slide lock only goes in one way so the recoil spring plunger engages the 1/2-moon dish in the slide lock which keeps it in place. To ensure you put it in correctly, the lock has a pin (seen at the top) fitting into a corresponding dish in the slide (2). Remove the slide towards the rear. The pistol is fieldstripped (3). Reassemble in reverse order.…
