Electric vehicles: As green as they are made out to be?

Emissions are not confined to the exhaust alone. To be truly green, carmakers of electric vehicles must take a full lifecycle approach to emissions.

But take the entire lifecycle of the so-called “green” zero-emission battery-electric vehicle into account, and it is a very different story. “You cannot look at emissions from a tank-to-wheel perspective.
