New rear-wheel-drive version of Audi’s R8 peels back the layers and steps up the power

Nowadays you can find Quattro in just about any Audi, as long as you search high enough up the model’s range. And when there’s no Quattro option, there’s always a front-wheel-drive alternative. The brand from Ingolstadt just doesn’t subscribe to rear-wheel-drive like its two German rivals BMW and Mercedes. Well, that’s only true 99 percent of the time because on special occasions Audi does delete the front driveshafts from the Audi R8 to produce a rear-wheel-drive version of their ultimate supercar.
