FRANCE
Measures to contain avian influenza have been tightened across France after a resurgence of the virus that swept through poultry flocks in that country during the winter of 2021/22, according to the agriculture ministry. The ministry added that the nationwide alert level for bird flu had been raised from low to moderate.
Between November 2021 and May 2022, France experienced its worst-ever bird flu crisis, when over 19 million birds had to be culled to contain a severe strain of the disease.
