Northern Cape scab outbreak under control

The sheep scab outbreak in the Northern Cape has largely been contained, with only three new incidents reported in September. The quarantine measures previously imposed on the majority of flocks in the province have also been lifted, according to the Northern Cape Red Meat Producers' Organisation. The organisation's operations official, Julize Volschenk, told Farmer's Weekly that the swift and effective action against the disease was made possible by a donation of 10 000 doses of vaccine from Afrivet.…
