Growing up in Jamaica, folk remedies have always been a part of my life. Living with aging grandparents in the countryside taught you to appreciate the goodness of local herbs. As my grandfather, Pupa, often said, "Fever grass a di king of fevers, cerasee cure every bilious." I have grown up knowing and using simple herbal teas and tonics to treat any illness I may have had. I remember attending Sabbath services with my grandparents and learning how God healed His people from their sicknesses and diseases, and how all the fruits and herbs were given to man as food.
