No ha sido la primera vez que la unidad de medida de la Prehistoria ha intrigado a los especialistas. Ya en los años cincuenta del siglo pasado el arqueólogo escocés Alexander Thom publicó una serie de estudios estadísticos sobre los monumentos megalíticos británicos. A partir de esos datos dedujo que habían sido levantados siguiendo una medida estándar que denominó «Yarda Megalítica», equivalente a 0,8296656 m. Sin embargo, el mundo académico no respaldó esta hipótesis al considerar las deducciones de Thom ni tan significativas ni tan presentes en los yacimientos prehistóricos.…
