Ella es is a collection of heart aches and love notes all stringed along to make you smile wherever your heart may be. The romance, the heartbreak, the laughter, the adventure, the soul-searching all recorded in one of her many busted notebooks that she religiously carries in her mochila wherever she may be in the world, now in your hands for poetic pleasure.Alegra, the emotion she was given as a name.

Alegra Zuluaga is a proud multi- ethnic woman- orgullosamente (proudly) Colombian, Mexican and Indonesian. She is a hopeless romantic, a gardener, and cultivator of sueos through her writing. A writer and an advocate for education through literature and art.Alegra is currently a student at California State University of Long Beach working on her Bachelors and double majoring in Comparative World Literature and Linguistics. Her love for language and culture has always been a big motivator for her wandering spirit. Before she started hopping on planes halfway across the world by herself, her first experiences of travel through space and time were through books. As a child, Alegria had her nose stuck in stories, knitting in grade school, and singing opera. Some say she's an old soul. Her love for literature was nurtured by her father, who never had a TV but an armour full of novels, poetry, and philosophy."Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." -Picasso.In the summer of 2018, she took a volunteer opportunity to teach children in San Miguel Tucuman, Argentina. This is where she quickly learned that creating art serves grounding in the midst of chaos. Art returns one to their inner child, and the innocent hunger to create magic occurs. In her free time, you can find her dancing in her garden or singing in the kitchen with a wooden spoon as her microphone. She indulges herself in nature and loves getting lost in new places. Alegra is 23 years old and is just getting started on her dreams and hopes you are starting on yours too.
