More than a journal, the Disciples Bible Study Journal is an intentional decision to engage personally with scripture. As you embark on this adventure of exploring, discovering, and journaling through God's word, the ultimate goal is to be transformed into a growing likeness of our Messiah, Jesus, and live as he lived on this earth. You can do this as an individual, but more ideally, set out on this adventure with peers who can share in the journey.
Disciples Bible Study Journal utilizes sound principles of learning and has, at its core, three guiding principles: Contextual Integrity, Repetitive Reflection, and Guided Discovery.
The format is unique in that multiple chapters are read through several times through the week to maintain context and background. Following the daily guide, you alternate between these whole sections of Scripture from the reading plan and a smaller Focus section that you will journal about using the guided discovery questions. A weekly memory verse is also part of the daily routine. The provided reading plans take you through the New Testament in a year, or, you can select a plan that covers the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice over a four year period alternating in "flexible quarters" between the OT and NT. An option is to fill in a blank 52 week custom plan of your own choosing. The Journal has space for recording 52 weeks of journaling.
