The Aberdeen captain made his milestone appearance in the 4-1 Scottish Cup win over Queen's Park, but isn’t about to rest on his laurels.
Shinnie still has another season on his Pittodrie contract after this one and has set his sights on reaching 700 games.
He said: "It was a good game.
"The match was very important to get through in the Cup. For this club, it is very important to get to Hampden. That was the most important thing.
"Now, I can look back [on the Queen's Park game] with fond memories. It’s a good milestone but I don't want to rest here, I want to keep going - and the next target is 700."
Dons can put thoughts of next month's Scottish Cup semi-final on the back burner for now and focus on the league, with the Pittodrie side dropping down to fourth spot.
Lifting the Scottish Cup or possibly finishing where they stand in the Premiership could be enough to get guaranteed European group stage football next season.
Aberdeen will be looking to keep that fight going with a win at bottom side St Johnstone on Saturday and, speaking to Reds Tv, Shinnie said: "All focus turns to the weekend. It's a big game before the break.
"We'll get into training and work hard towards next week."
The 33-year-old got on the scoresheet on Saturday with the third goal just before half-time to kill off the Spiders.
He admitted: "Two can always be a dodgy scoreline. If you give away a goal they get back into it and their momentum is up a wee bit.
"It killed the game off at 3-0 and, in fairness to the boys, they came out in the second half and got the fourth goal, which was just as important.
"We were a bit disappointed to not get the clean sheet but, all i...
