Dedication ceremony to honour those who donate their bodies to science

Se-Anne Rall se-anne.koopman@inl.co.za THE University of KwaZulu-Natal's College of Health Sciences last week held a funeral service for those who had donated their bodies to science. The dedication ceremony was intended to honour both the donors and the deceased. UKZN’s senior lecturer of clinical anatomy, Dr Pamela Pillay, said the ceremony was an oppportunity for both students and staff to show their appreciation to the donors. The department invited a non-demoninational religious leader to conduct the ceremony. Also among the invited guests was the Inspector of Anatomy for KZN, in order to ensure oversight in line with legislation.
