Family knew female ‘mastermind’ – claim

Willem Phungula willem.phungula@inl.co.za THE National Freedom Party has said it believes the woman who allegedly masterminded the murder of its candidate ward councillor, Dumisani Qwabe, is known to the family and was close to the deceased. Qwabe, the ward 17 candidate in Nongoma, was found burnt beyond recognition in his bakkie on October 26, five days before the local government elections on November 1. He had sustained gunshot wounds, but the family were able to identify him by his feet, the only part not burnt. DNA results corroborated this.
