Pinpointing your exact location in an emergency could save your life

If a cyclist falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, do they still make a sound? It’s a macabre thought, but we should never be too blasé about our personal safety when riding alone and off the beaten path. Luckily modern gadgets and apps have some clever solutions. Little bigger than a 50p and clipping onto a helmet’s cradle, Specialized’s ANGi Crash Sensor measures G-force and velocity, both of which change rapidly if you crash. Paired to its phone app, ANGi then gives a countdown (so you have the chance to cancel) before calling an emergency contact or the emergency services and sending your live GPS coordinates.
