The last two years have marked important turning points for Ferdinand Berthoud. The award-winning watch brand, which is a passion project of Karl-Fried-rich Scheufele (Co-President of Chopard), shared that it had significantly expanded its production, going beyond its projected 30 watches a year. In fact, standards are set so high that it takes around nine months to train an experienced watchmaker to adapt to Ferdinand Berthoud’s requirements. Each watch is fully made by a single watchmaker, which adds to its bespoke identity. The invisible guiding hand of the brand is Berthoud himself. Through his oeuvre, the brand translates his watchmaking ideas into contemporary wristwatches. One notable creation is the Calibre FB-RE.FC based on an 18th-century clock design by Berthoud.
