Blancpain adds new complications and colours to the vibrant Ladybird collection

While we’re eagerly awaiting Act III of Blancpain’s year-long Fifty Fathoms’ 70th anniversary celebration, the brand is spotlighting another well-loved collection. Besides being a delightful palate cleanser with its effervescent pop of summery hues, the new variants of the Ladybird Colors are a timely reminder of Blancpain’s pioneering role in the history of feminine timepieces. Since as early as 1930, Blancpain has been a proponent of feminine mechanical watches when it launched the first self-winding wristwatch for ladies, the Rolls. It was the first watchmaker to appoint a lady to head the company in 1933. Betty Fiechter was a trailblazer and unveiled the first Ladybird watch in 1956, fitted with the smallest round movement of the time.
