This winter afghan showcases classically structured horizontal bands of highly textured stitches. The interesting pattern variety and ease of memorizing each row make this a fun and quick project to work.

SKILL LEVEL Intermediate FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 40 inches wide x 62 inches long MATERIALS • Bernat Softee Chunky super bulky (super chunky) weight acrylic yarn (3½ oz/ 108 yds/100g per ball): 11 balls #828008 natural • Size N/P/15/10mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge • Size M/N/13/9mm crochet hook • Tapestry needle • Locking stitch markers GAUGE In gauge swatch with larger hook and working in 1 lp only: 11 tr = 6 inches Exact gauge is not critical for this project. PATTERN NOTES Weave in loose ends as work progresses. To keep ends secure during washing, leave longer length to double back with tapestry needle in worked-over section.
