Tara Meixsell is an award winning author with five titles to her name. Meixsell is a native of Sudbury, Mass and has a BA in History Literature from Reed College. Her wide ranging career includes many years of Montessori Teaching and School Directorship, and investigative research on the impacts of natural gas development during the hydraulic fracturing boom in the United States and Australia. She published a non fiction title Collateral Damage which investigates health and environmental impacts of drilling in the Western United States. She worked for MITs media lab on a gas impact research project. Meixsell also collaborated with and appears in four documentaries two of which are Emmy winners. All films investigate natural gas and coal seam gas drilling. Meixsell is an avid sports enthusiast and a lover of both the mountains and the ocean. She was a lifeguard, a swim instructor and a ski instructor for many years. Meixsell wrote Covert Op Sadie in the year of 2013 when she first came to Coronado Island. Covert Op Sadie is a true story that happened at Coronado's Dog Beach.
This book is a fundraiser for the C4 Foundation and all profits will go to support the Navy Seals and their families. Meixsell comes from a family that has served in the military over four generations in both the Air Force and Navy. Meixsell resides in western Colorado on her remote mountain ranch with her two horses, five cats, and three chickens.
