ELLE EXERCE DE CONSTANTES RECHERCHES SUR LES TEINTURES VÉGÉTALES, RÉACTIVANT LEUR PRATIQUE JUSQUE DANS LES ATELIERS DE FABRICATION DE L’OPÉRA-COMIQUE DE PARIS, PAR EXEMPLE.

ALCHIMIE INDIGO «Teindre naturellement en opposition à chimiquement revient moins cher. On a simplement perdu ce savoir-faire. Les maisons de couture ont sauvegardé les plumassiers, les bottiers, les brodeurs… mais pas les teinturiers.» Sandrine Rozier, créatrice textile, qui débuta chez Dries Van Noten, opte pour le métier de costumière. Elle se forme auprès du spécialiste en teinture végétale Michel Garcia puis part pour la Villa Kujoyama à Tokyo et se perfectionne auprès des maîtres japonnais. De retour en France, elle s’installe à Montpellier et allie aux secrets des microbactéries pourvoyeuses d’indigo les techniques de kotozome, des motifs faits en réserve à la pâte de riz, et des nœuds du shibori. Ses créations sont scrutées par de multiples acteurs du luxe mais aussi par la fondation Luma à Arles ou encore…
