ACAPULCO With a slightly vague backstory, apart from being designed in the 1950s in Mexico, there isn’t much information on the creator of the Acapulco chair. First made out of a combination of metal and plastic, it has however been imitated ad infinitum in myriad tropical colours and become a stalwart of outdoor entertainment scenes. ADIRONDACK Prevalent in beach houses, and most often associated with a classic American coastal aesthetic (it was created in 1903 by Thomas Lee in the Adirondack Mountains in New York), the Adirondack is a simple chair made with flat wooden boards and has a straight back and seat and wide armrests.
