New Exhibit to Feature Pop-Culture Treasures

From Muhammad Ali’s boxing robe and Paul Simon’s guitar to Mister Rogers’ navy blue sneakers and an array of original Muppets — a new exhibit at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History promises to delight entertainment fans with an astounding 200 pop-culture artifacts. The bilingual exhibition, called “Entertainment Nation”/“Nación del espectáculo,” opens Dec. 9 and has been in the works for more than a decade. Along with some of the museum’s most famous items — including the ruby slippers Judy Garland wore in The Wizard of Oz — new items, such as Michelle Yeoh’s Star Trek: Discovery costume, will be on display.
