With the Sierra’s once controversial hatchback jellymould shape now familiar to car buyers, the unveiling of the new five-door Granada in March 1985 was seen as little more than a natural progression for the manufacturer’s renowned flagship.
Admittedly, there was a little kickback due to the lack of an initial estate version, but there were clear benefits to the new-fangled Granada over its traditionally-shaped Mk2 predecessor.
