JEFF UREN’S RACE PROVED CONVERSIONS

Race Proved Performance and Racing Equipment Ltd of Hanwell, London was founded by racing driver, Jeff Uren. Having won the 1959 British Saloon Car Championship for Ford in a Zephyr he went on to compete in Anglia, Prefect and Cortina race cars, holding track records at several circuits and becoming Ford’s Rally and Competitions Manager. As well as the Mk2 Cortina, Race Proved performed conversions on various Fords creating 3-litre V6 versions of the Escort — the Apache — and a Capri known as the Comanche. Amongst others there were the 3-litre Granada Seneca, 5-litre V8 Stampede Capri (at £4080, twice the price of a Savage) and the Easypower 3-litre Transit.
