The right camshaft for your car will depend on a number of factors ranging from the way the engine breathes, both inlet and exhaust, though to the engine size and the intended use. There is also the question of practicality. There is no fun to be had to have a Race or Rally cam, which is designed to offer power in the 40000-6000 rpm rev range when all you’ll be doing is bumbling around town and taking yourself off to the occasional car show. The idle will be lumpy, the fuel consumption dire and the driveability will require you to go everywhere at 5000 rpm.
