LANCASHIRE ULEZ RULED OUT

Lancashire will not introduce a London-style clean air zone according to a senior politician. Responding to a question about ULEZ spreading from neighbouring Greater Manchester, Lancashire County Council’s cabinet member for economic development and growth, Aidy Riggott, issued assurances that “no such scheme will be introduced” under the current Conservative Party rule of the area’s County Hall. The fears follow a proposed ULEZ for Greater Manchester, which has since been paused as a result of a public backlash. Cllr Riggott called for the removal of signs erected in Lancashire warning of a forthcoming clean air zone across the neighbouring region, with the signs having has the words ‘Under review’ added to them earlier this year.…
