1 970s F1 hero, Jackie Stewart called it the Green Hell, yet it’s quite simply the greatest racetrack ever built. Built at a time when racing was about the challenge first and safety second, it’s a throwback to another era. But while other historic race circuits have been abandoned or sanitised with chicanes and beach-sized gravel traps, the’Ring remains largely unmolested. Almost 13 miles long, the Nürburgring Nordschelife is one of the longest tracks in the world. It has countless corners and there’s over 1000 ft difference in altitude from the highest to the lowest points.
