It’s the big one, and this year with a 40th birthday to celebrate, the Classic Motor Show pulled out all the stops. Here are the highlights.

Our own Ford Fair may have the record for being the longest-running one-make car show (38 years and counting), but when it comes to general car events, the Classic Motor Show takes the crown — this year celebrating its 40th birthday, along with the show’s headline sponsor, Lancaster Insurance, too. We weren’t at the first one way back in 1984, but it’s fair to say we’ve attended a good few over the years, and one thing that never fails to impress is the sheer scale of the event. This year over 71,000 enthusiasts came through the doors of the NEC across the three days to take a good look at over 3000 cars — and a record-breaking 338 clubs — across seven halls of the NEC.
