Coronas may be short in stature (they max out at six inches in length, by our parameters) but they can deliver big flavor. Eight of the coronas we reviewed in this issue scored 90 points or higher, considerably impressive. At the top of our ratings were two small but flavorful smokes, one from Honduras, the other from the Dominican Republic. The slim Alec Bradley Tempus Natural Corona, with a mere 42 ring gauge, has notes of raisins and mixed nuts, combining for a bold smoke that packs a bit of a punch. At 93 points, Arturo Fuente’s Don Carlos No. 3 is a sublime combination of Dominican tobacco and rare Cameroon wrapper.
