There are over 300 types of turtles. Some, like the painted turtle, have brightly coloured shells and bodies.

When in danger, turtles curl their bodies into their shells to stay safe. Happy Nest Turtle moms dig nests in dirt or sand and cover their eggs to keep them warm.
