The George is one of the most prominent hotels on the Colchester high street, surrounding by the hustle and bustle of its thriving town centre. It is among thirteen luxurious accommodations in the Surya Hotels collection. In recent years, it has been completely revamped with designers, restorers and specialist contractors bringing it to the forefront of luxury.
Arriving in the silence of the Ford Mustang Mach E, we barely disturbed the atmosphere the grade II listed property exudes with its classic sage green paint and modernised façade. As we took in the incredible design features of The George’s exterior we noticed the timber framed building that we were told dates back to the 14th century.
Finally stepping inside, the interior is filed with unique touches like an award-winning mural by Lucy Tiffany.…
