Bid for urgent interdict over communication platform dismissed

Francesca Villette francesca.villette@inl.co.za THE Western Cape High Court has dismissed an urgent interdict application brought against the government-led communication platform GovChat, while another application against it is expected to be heard later this year. Chè Overberg, a director of Silvergrey (Pty) Ltd, a social networking company with offices in Loop Street, brought two applications against GovChat founder and chief executive Eldrid Jordaan, alleging Jordaan fraudulently took Overberg’s computer program and presented it to the government as his own. GovChat is a government-led social media platform that is used for engagement between local government and communities in real time.
