An Essex boy who first trod the boards as Billy Elliot in the West End at the age of 12, he describes himself as ‘easy-going’ and thinks it’s cool to love your mum and dad. ‘I think it’s cool to love full stop,’ he explains. ‘With the older generation it was a bit of an embarrassment to love.
