A noir thriller, The Birkin is a screenplay set in a darker side of Asia that has been created by the wealth and materialism of the rapidly growing urban centres of Singapore, China and Malaysia. Without the moral ballast that has been decimated by greed, the newly minted urbanites of The Birkin are driven through the fast changing landscapes of modern Asia, with only their desires for a compass. Joe, a drop out is the main protagonist. He has only two passions, his music and his girlfriend, Nina, a social escort. To support both, he drives for a private limousine service. And because he is a low achiever, he is quite content with his life. Nina, however, has much bigger plans and her greed sets in motion a chain of events that sees the young lovers dragged into a world of organised crime.
