Det er ikke let at tage hul på et nyt kapitel af tilværelsen uden sit livs kærlighed ved sin side. Dronning Anne-Marie skal vænne sig til en hver- dag uden kong Konstantin, der betød alt for hende og resten af den græske kongelige familie.

Dronning Anne-Marie, 76, står i denne tid overfor den måske vanskeligste udfordring nogensinde. Anne-Marie har mistet sin elskede mand kong Konstantin, og det kan komme til at tage tid at vænne sig til en tilværelse uden sin livsledsager gennem 60 år. Kong Konstantin gik bort den 10. januar, og den 16. januar var der begravelseshøjtidelighed i Metropolis Katedralen i Athen. På den dag var dronning Anne-Marie utrolig stærk i sorgen, og hun repræsenterede den græske kongelige familie med stor værdighed. Omkring sig til den smukke begravelse havde hun sine og Konstantins fem børn Alexia, 57, Pavlos, 55, Nikolaos, 53, Theodora, 39, og Philippos, 36. Netop børnene samt svigerdøtrene og -sønnerne har dannet ring om Anne-Marie siden Konstantins død og har støttet dronningen. 40 dage efter kongens bortgang, den 18. februar, samlede familien…
