10 mins Free ✓ Allen key set ✓ Flat-head screwdriver ✓ Rotor truing tool or adjustable spanner 1 CENTRE THE CALLIPER The easiest way to centre a brake calliper over the rotor is to loosen the calliper mounting bolts half a turn, then pull the corresponding brake lever tightly. Usually, this will align the calliper with the rotor. 2 GENTLE TIGHTENING Now comes the tricky bit–doing up the bolts without moving the calliper. The key is to tighten them a little at a time (usually with a 5mm Allen key), alternating between each bolt. This prevents the torque applied from twisting the calliper. 3 SPIN THE DISCS Once the bolts are tightened to the brake manufacturer’s recommended torque setting, spin the wheel and listen.
